Investigating Teachers of English Knowledge and Awareness of Dyslexia: A case study in Primary Iraqi Schools

Dyslexia is a learning disability in which people face difficulty reading though they are intelligent and have motivation for reading. Therefore; it impacts the portion of brain responsible processing language. Such condition compromises efficiency affected person, generally gets unnoticed. Even children unaware their state. The study investigates knowledge awareness dyslexia among teachers English Iraqi primary schools. this has three objectives: (i) To investigate amount school Baghdad City about dyslexia.; (ii) examine how teachers’ by age, gender, grade level, length service, academic background; (iii) determine whether there connection between total score confidence level rating. An exploratory approach was adopted to collect analyze data. This carried out during COVID-19 pandemic when very few schools were open working online mode with no physical attendance. A 34 EFL (English as foreign language) from governmental private – Iraq, assigned survey through random sampling. results pertained following characteristics: participants’ demographic data, exploring regarding dyslexia, observation dyslexia. Findings revealed that most little experience but considerable grasp disorder. Inductive training highly recommended promote early support dyslexic overcome difficulties learning.
